The stronghold of Visegrád

Those who want to climb the castle must conquer a long wooden staircase, but the effort is worth it, because the exhibitions in the halls of the Visegrád stronghold offer insights into the life and entertainment of the Hungarian royal court. From the terrace of the stronghold, there is a breathtaking view of the city and the Danube, which winds at the foot of the hill. Unsurprisingly, this is a popular spot for photos, as the view of the Danube Bend is fantastic from here.

In summer, the Visegrád International Palace Festival takes place here, transporting you back to the Middle Ages for four days with countless spectacular events such as tournaments, archery, falconry and wrestling shows.
