The Mirbach Palace in rococo style was built by the brewer Michael Spech from Bratislava in the years 1768-1770. The last private owner, Emil Mirbach, left the palace to the city with the wish that it would be used as an exhibition space of the Municipal Gallery. This wish was fulfilled, and today the house houses a permanent exhibition of Central-Eastern European Baroque paintings and sculptures, and provides space for special exhibitions.
