Cathedral of St. Stephen in Passau
Cathedral of St. Stephen in Passau
The magnificent building with its white towers and blue-green domes is considered the definitive Baroque church north of the Alps, to which the architects Carlo Lurago and Giovanni Battista Carlone gave their Italian imprint after the city fire in 1662. The magnificent interior holds a very special treasure: the largest cathedral organ in the world with 17,974 pipes and 233 stops in five organ movements that can be played together from one main console.
